ADO74

A cut and shut job? Or an elaborate Supermini project that was cancelled by the management of BL?

ADO74 was started in 1972, and it was an attempt to bring the Mini up to date with a proposed launch date of the mid to late 70's.

The project suffered many hurdles and the £130 million price tag the project needed to get it into production meant it was shelved in 1973.

The project also suffered from poor management. Harry Webster headed up the team, but because he had previously worked for Triumph had not come to grips with the packaging of a small car.
